Today's nearly coming to a close, and to be honest I felt great. I woke up and kicked things off with a couple eggs, some whole wheat toast and some fruit.
A great breakfast is key to help keep your energy levels up without having that crash a couple hours in. Most people simply use coffee, but a well spaced out, proper diet will leave you feeling even better, with the proper nutrients to keep your body in tip-top shape.
A couple hours later it was snack time: a protein shake, hand full of almonds and a banana. Nice and simple.
Lunch rolled around I made a turkey sandwich on whole wheat bread and a glass of milk.
After lunch I decided to go for a run. Today I did HIIT style training which, if you haven't heard of this, is high intensity interval training. Basically I have a long street by my house and I will run flat out for 15-30 seconds then jog for around 2 minutes until I catch my breath. This is done 7 or 8 times. Keep in mind this isn't easy on the body so doing it once or max twice a week should suffice. Add it in to your regular steady state cardio program.
My post run was a just a carb+protein shake.
Dinner: a pot roast. Magnificent. Potatoes and greens to go with it. As much as I love pizza, this is pretty good too.
Bed time snack, which I am going to have in a little while will be a glass or two of milk and a scoop of peanut butter.
That's it, nothing special.
